Hello, there!

It’s been 14 years since my writing was first published and yet I still hate writing about myself. I’ve written poetry, I’ve written novels, I’ve written newspaper articles and web content and goodness knows what else and yet I still can’t seem to write an about page about myself … which is probably why this is the first time I’ve drafted an about page for this blog, even though I’ve been publishing here for about 18 months.

(So if this is the first time you’ve visited NicoleThelin.com, let me assure you that everything else on the site is better than this!)

Theiln Family
Our Family, 2014

As you probably already know, I’m Nicole Thelin! I’m a 26-year-old author and homeschooling mom of five beautiful kiddos. I have a busy, crazy, incredible, awesome life that is so much better than anything I could have ever hoped for. I am so blessed that I get to spend all day, every day, with the people I love most in this world – my sweet husband, David, and our five children.

I love, love, love this man.

David and I married in August 2005. In the nearly 10 years that we’ve been married, we’ve had some wonderful and crazy adventures. For example, we moved nine times in the first seven years of our marriage – usually crazy, out-of-state moves as our growing household between homes in Washington and Utah (and one brief stint in Georgia). Through all of our adventures and challenges, our marriage has become stronger and sweeter. There’s no one on this earth I’d rather experience life with than this man of mine.

Our crew.
Our crew.

You’ll learn a lot more about us as you browse the blog. Like our life, my posts focus on Faith, Fun and Family – and everything those topics entail. I write about birthday parties, freezer dinners, my religion, family estrangements, debts, and anything else that strikes. If there’s a topic you’d like to see me write about, leave a comment somewhere on the blog!

The most important thing you need to know about me, though, is that I love this crazy life of mine. Even when it’s hard to manage and things don’t turn out quite the way I expected, there’s nothing I would rather do than this. Even on the bad days, I wouldn’t trade this life for anything.

I am living my dream – and I love it.
