Throughout history, artists and authors have spoken hope and truth through the darkest and most difficult times. When dark days strike, we find solace and encouragement in quotes and memoirs, stories from people who have been there and fought through hard things and survived (and even thrived) as a result. These things give us hope.
The world is in commotion. Hard things are happening worldwide. Uncertainty and fear abound. Pain and sickness, grief and despair seem to be everywhere.
And yet…
There is always hope. There is always light, and love, and good things to hold onto even when everything else seems to be slipping away.
Throughout my life, I’ve encountered a lot of hard things. I’ve dealt with poverty, disability, estrangement, addiction, mental illness and the crushing weight of depression. I’ve struggled and along the way, I’ve clung to the words of those who tread those paths before me because they gave me hope.
Now, in my healing, I want to be a hope-giver too.
The world always needs more of those.

Serving the Poor
For over a decade, I have been focused on helping low income people across America connect with resources, benefits and programs in their local communities. This work is precious to me, because it began as a result of my own experiences with poverty.
I founded Low Income Relief in 2013. This information serves around three million people per year on the website and has well over 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. We are wholly dedicated to helping people experiencing poverty get the resources they need to rise above their situation and live happier, healthier lives.
Although I also run a number of other websites, such as Get Help Map, That WEIRD Family and others, I am most proud of Low Income Relief because of the impact we’ve had on so many people’s lives.
Serving My Family
As a homeschool mom of five, I am almost always with my family. I have the great privilege of watching them grow and thrive every single day. It has been one of the greatest treasures of my life.
Our family understands the importance of serving and lifting those around us. We love to serve our friends and neighbors, including the homeless people in our community. I love seeing the impact that my work has had on my children.
Serving Others
As my business has grown, I’ve had the wonderful privilege of mentoring others with their small businesses. I am currently developing a small consulting business so that I can help content creators launch and improve their website and/or YouTube-based businesses.
I also enjoy public speaking. As I’ve had the opportunity to speak, I’ve noticed that my messages of healing after heartbreaking hardship resonate with every audience. The unspoken truth is that we’re all a mess behind-the-scenes and we all wrestle with the same basic hardships… but because we don’t usually speak openly about those things, a lot of people suffer alone and in silence. As a speaker, my goal is to bring hope and healing to others through my own radical vulnerability.
